First half of summer

When I think back on this past summer, it seems pretty eventful.  Here's hoping that summers like this a few and far between.  But, maybe not.  We sure were able to visit and see a lot of people we love!  What is better than that?

Edmund spent his birthday at Chutes and Ladders park with our dear friends.  And, I was able to take him to the Guthrie to see the show Harvey.  What a fun 9th birthday!

The first weekend in June brought us to Chicago.  We were able to celebrate my cousin Nicole's high school graduation, my cousin Bryce's confirmation, visit with Nathan and Julee and kids, and unknowingly have a sweet last visit with Grandma Carter before she passed away three weeks later.

Our favorite local convenience shop (it is so much more that that), Tim and Tom's, celebrated their 26th anniversary by giving away hot dogs, chips, soda and a cookie.  Christian was in heaven with his own orange soda!

Another visit to the Children's Hospital for Carter.  After spending a lovely Sunday evening at a friend's house for dinner, Carter's head was the unfortunate landing pad for a rock thrown up in the air by their toddler.  He came away with five stitches, a popsicle and having watched The Good Dinosaur.  All in all, he thought it was pretty nice!

Can I say more about Inner City Tennis?  For the month of June, Edmund and Faye were at the Tennis Camp every morning with the Gaulkes while Rachel and I and the younger kids played at Waite Park.  Above left, Faye and Christian after having enjoyed the wading pool.  Above right, Phillips kids enjoying the free lunch at Waite Park.

Happy Fourth of July!  My mom is all ready to watch the kids whenever I go into labor!
